Spoon rings are everywhere – but making your own? That’s where the real fun begins.
Join me for a hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop where we turn forgotten cutlery into meaningful, wearable jewellery. Whether it’s a vintage teaspoon from your gran’s drawer or a quirky find from a charity shop, I’ll help you transform it into a wearable piece.
No prior experience needed – just a creative open mind, good hand strength, and a love for upcycling.
What You’ll Learn:
-
How to size a ring for a comfortable fit
-
How to bend and form a spoon into a wearable shape
-
How to file, smooth and refine the edges for comfort
-
Tips on choosing the right spoons for future projects
We work with various tools only – no flames, no soldering – just good old-fashioned elbow grease and careful shaping.

Choosing the Right Spoon:
Not all spoons are created equal. Here’s a quick guide:
✔ Good Options:
-
Sterling silver spoons
-
Silver-plated / Electro Plated Nickel Silver (marked EPNS)
-
Nickel silver (marked NS or Alpacca)
-
Smaller spoons – teaspoons, coffee spoons, salt spoons (the key is: smaller = easier to manipulate)
✘ Best Avoided:
-
Stainless steel (especially newer pieces) or pewter
-
Ladles, serving spoons, or anything over 2mm thick
-
Spoons with welded or heavily repaired handles
Top Tip: Not sure? Bring a few options and we’ll pick the best one together.
