Frequently Asked Questions

Question:  What is refurbished jewellery?

Refurbishing: This process involves removing all scratches, scuffs and abrasions and thoroughly cleaning the piece of jewellery with the sole aim of making it look as new as possible. This service typically starts at £20 and varies depending on the complexity of the item. Costs will increase if stones need replacing or re-setting as this becomes a repair.

Question: What is remodelled jewellery?

Remodelling: This is a more in-depth and time-consuming process, with costs starting at £350. It involves:

  1. Discussing design expectations with you.

  2. Producing a number of rough sketches of the new jewellery item.

  3. Taking the original jewellery apart to separate the stones from the metal.

  4. Melting and refining the metal to comply with hallmarking standards.

  5. Repurposing the metal into usable sheet or wire to begin a new project.

  6. Ordering any new materials or stones if required.

  7. Beginning the making process.

  8. Documenting the progress.

  9. Hallmarking the new piece.

  10. Final polishing and setting any stones as per the design.

Can you repair my jewellery for me?

Repair Work: This involves fixing specific issues with the jewellery, such as stone replacement, stone re-setting or resizing. Costs for repair work start at £30 and will vary depending on the complexity of the job. Each type of repair has different consideration factors, so I cannot offer a one-price-fits-all estimate.

Question: Do you buy sterling silver jewellery from the public?

Answer: No. Prior to January 2023, I did buy sterling silver jewellery from the public. Since January, I have shifted my focus to selling my own handmade designs. However, I have already amassed a large collection of pre-loved pieces which I will continue to refurbish and offer for sale.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Question: How can I find out my ring size?

Answer: I recommend using a ring sizer as the most accurate method for determining your ring size. You can purchase a ring sizer from my website. Simply follow the instructions included with the ring sizer to determine your ring size. This method ensures the most accurate measurement and the best fit for your ring. However, if you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to message me: [email protected]

Question: Can you hold / reserve refurbished jewellery for me?

Answer: I am happy to hold items for customers, but there are a few important things you should know. To hold an item, I require a £5 non-refundable deposit per item, which will be deducted from the final balance. In addition, there is an administration fee of £1.50 per item, which is non-refundable and non-deductible.

I will hold items for a maximum of 10 days, including weekends and bank holidays. If I hold an item for you and you do not pay for it by the 10 day deadline, I will decline any future requests to hold items for you. This is because holding items ties up my inventory and prevents other customers from purchasing them. Therefore, I kindly ask that you only request to hold items if you are certain that you will purchase them within the specified time frame.
