Pewter Snail Casting Workshop - Beginner Friendly

In this creative 1.5-hour session, you’ll make your own small pewter cast piece using a real snail shell as the mould. You can turn your finished cast into either a pendant or a keyring, creating something unusual and full of character to take home.

This workshop is beginner friendly and carefully supervised throughout. You’ll be guided through the basic casting process step by step, then shown how to clean up and finish your piece. Please note that this workshop involves molten metal, so group sizes are kept very small for safety and support.

What’s included:

• 1.5 hours of tuition in my Forest of Dean studio
• Use of all tools and equipment
• Lead-free pewter and casting materials
• One snail shell mould per person
• Findings for either a pendant or keyring
• Bottled water and biscuits

Please note:

• Each piece will have its own natural, organic finish
• Results will vary slightly from piece to piece, which is all part of the charm of this process
• Because this workshop involves hot materials, it is not suitable for young children

Group sizes are kept very small (maximum of 2 people) so you’ll have close support throughout.
